U.S Interstate 20

East of Bossier City, Interstate 20 passes by Barksdale A.F.B. and transitions back into a rural freeway. Paralleling U.S. 80, I-20 proceeds to  Minden, Arcadia and Ruston. Once it reaches Monroe, I-20 becomes an urban freeway again along the busiest stretch between Dallas and Jackson, Mississippi. Monroe was also the location of another proposed branch loop, Interstate 420.2 72 miles beyond Downtown Monroe, I-20 spans the Mississippi River across the Vicksburg Bridge, a four lane cantilever span.

MINDEN AIRPORT

The Minden Airport serves the City of Minden and Webster Parish and is owned and operated by the City of Minden.

In the State of Louisiana there are four General Aviation airport roles. The Minden Airport is classified as a Level II; maintaining a contributing role in supporting the local and regional economies and connecting it to the state and national economies. This 164 acre facility can provide the same type of quality services to customers, with small single engine planes to medium sized corporate jets and helicopters, as larger general aviation and commercial airports offer.

Louisiana Southern Railroad (LAS)

The Louisiana Southern Railroad (LAS) began operations September 25, 2005. Watco Companies acquired the railroad through a lease agreement with the Kansas City Southern Railway (KCS). The LAS consists of 188 miles of track featuring two separate branches. The northern branch runs from Bossier City to Sibley, then north to Springhill. Additionally, the southern branch runs from Gibsland to Pineville Junction. The LAS interchanges with the KCS at Gibsland and Sibley.
