Are you between the ages of 6 and 18 years of age? Do you like to grill or are you interested in grilling? If so, you need to get signed up for Ace Hardware and Grilling On Main’s “Little Grillers” contest. We will provide you with the grill, charcoal, competition meat and the opportunity for a fun evening of grilling. There will be two (2) divisions. The Junior division are for ages 6-12 (as of 1/1/2024) and the Senior division are for ages 13-18 (as of 1/1/2024)

By entering this contest and checking the box below I agree to abide by all the rules listed below. Cook-off promoters and/or sponsors are not liable for any accidents or injuries. An adult must be with the contestant at all times or contestant will be disqualified.

Please have your parent/guardian complete the entry form and return with check or money order for $25.00 payable to Minden Historic Festival District. Payment and entry form can be mailed to P.O. Box 580 Minden Louisiana 71058, or it can be found online at www.mindenla.org/gom. Registration will be limited to the first 25 entries

Each competitor must have and adult supervising them at all times. The deadline to register is May 31, 2024. Your immediate confirmation will be sent via email to the address you provide. Rules and regulations are provided on the following page.

Rules & Regulations

LITTLE GRILLERS RULES & REGULATIONS

• An entry form and fee of $25.00 per child must be received by May 23, 2024.
The entry fee will supply the contestant with two (2) pork loin chops 1” thick, your own grill, chimney starter, lighter cubes, and charcoal to take home.

• There will be 2 age groups: (Junior) ages 6-12 and (Senior) ages 13-18. The contest official age is determined as of 1/1/2024.

• Little Grillers contestants must cook in the designated area. Also, each contestant must do the preparation, cooking and presentation without assistance. If they are unable to do all of this on their own, they are too young to cook.

• One adult is allowed to help start the fire, but no other assistance may be provided. A parent/guardian must be with contestants at all times, or they will be disqualified.

• Handicapped children will be allowed to do as much as they are able with some help from the parent/guardian. Please let us know on the entry form if a handicapped child is participating and what special arrangements need to be made.

• All contestants will be provided two (2) pork loin chop 1” thick provided by Hugh Wood Catering and Specialty Meat, a grill , chimney starter, lighter cubes, and charcoal to take home the day of the competition.

• Each contestant will need to bring their own seasoning/sauces, cooking utensils including tongs, cutting board, and prep table no longer than 6 feet. No Tents. Garnish is allowed in the turn in box.

• Garnish includes, pineapple, lettuce or anything edible that fits in the turn in box.

• Contestants MUST cook on the grill provided by Ace Hardware & Grilling On Main for the competition.

Check-in Begins: 5:00 pm - 520 Broadway Street
Cooks Meeting: 5:30 pm - 520 Broadway Street
Grilling Begins: 6:00 pm - 520 Broadway Street
Turn in & Judging: 7:00 pm - 520 Broadway Street

Awards will be presented at the Main Stage: 8:00 pm
PRIZES: Grand Prize winners in each age group will receive 1st Place trophies.
Runner-up winners in each age group will receive 2nd Place trophies.
